Multimedia and storytelling experiences on topics related to healthcare and global health so education and advocacy becomes engaging

A multimedia storytelling show about the history of the HIV virus- from the early-mid 20th century when it first crossed into the human species, through the global events that allowed it to spread around the world leading to the AIDS Epidemic in the 1980s. Through archival footage, live performances, and even a game show, the show highlights how the spread of HIV around the world was directly related to colonialism in Africa and globalization in an effort to decrease HIV-related stigma.

Written and performed by Allison Navis, Directed by Sarah Hughes. Thanks to Caveat Theater for their support in the creation of this project.

March 4th 2019- Caveat Theater in New York City

Guest on Mimi and the Brain podcast, a show where Mimi Hayes interviews scientists about their fields, what got them interested in the work they do, and what are we hoping to learn. I was a guest on two episodes, discussing the field of Neuro HIV and my work in global health.
